The second round of the WSK Master Series WSK held at the spectacular Naples International Circuit gave confirmation to the positive expectations of the first part of the season. In other words, all our drivers in any of the categories involved have very good chance to do well. This is a clear sign that the technical material employed is perfectly set-up and allow drivers to find soon the right synergy. Luca Corberi and Alessio Piccini entered in the top ten of KF3 class, the same as for Paolo Ippolito in KF2 and Armand Convers in KZ1.
Moreover Nicklas Nielsen in KF2 category also allows to have good expectations for the coming season and according to him, the work of Zdenek Groman will also give good results in KZ1.
KF3 – Both in the qualifying heats and in the heats our two drivers always ran one close to each other, in the first five positions, with one exception only. So, at the end of the heats Piccini was able to take the third position of the prefinal “B” while Corberi the fourth position.
Both of them had a very good qualifying race, with Alessio Piccini able to gain the second position in the pre-final.
During the final the live fight occurred in the very first positions slowed down our young Italian drivers which unfortunately lost the leading position, due to this.
Under the chequered flag Corberi arrived seventh and Piccini tenth, which results give further good scores to our drivers who could almost be satisfied with the good race they both did, and the good timings they got, at the same level of their best competitors.
Corberi is now seventh in the general ranking with 40 scores and Piccini is behind him with 33 points.
KF2 – In KF2 category Paolo Ippolito and Nicklas Nielsen’s performances were quite the same, running the heats in the first positions. After the two very good heats the Mercury-RAD chassis of Ippolito and Nielsen were lined up in the prefinal, fourth and fifth row respectively. The prefinal unfortunately got a different result for our drivers, actually Ippolito fought in the very first positions ending fifth while Nielsen had to stop at the starting grid already. The final saw Paolo Ippolito conquering precious scores, thanks to the seventh position in the final which took him to the fourth’ of the absolute ranking with 41 points.
KZ1 – In the master class the work done has been very demanding, Armand Convers and Zdenek Groman, together with the technical staff tried different solutions for the opening race of the season, the WSK Euro Series which will be run on the difficult Naples International Circuit in about one month.
At the end of a full week end Convers got an interesting result in the final-2, on Sunday, and Groman gave prove to have become more and more confident with the chassis. Considering the last WSK Master Series’ competition, scheduled on next March, 29th at the International 7 Laghi Circuit (Italy), Convers will start from the ninth position of the ranking. Moreover, the aim of Groman will be to obtain more scores for the general ranking.
