At the South Garda Karting in Lonato, for the third round of the WSK Euro Series, our drivers fight hard for the whole weekend in the OK, OKJ and KZ2 classes.
The third round of the WSK Euro Series has just ended at the South Garda Karting in Lonato, where the Kosmic Kart Racing Department was present in 3 categories. While giving battle in the middle of the group, in such a top level event, the results collected do not reflect the expectations of the whole team, considering what we proved to be able to do in the last few races.
In OKJ our drivers Axel Malja, Alexander Gubenko and Andrey Zhivnov are the authors of not so brilliant qualifying heats, consequently gaining difficult starting positions in the Heats. Despite the constant fights they are called for, the three drivers do well, making the most of the performances of the Kosmic Mercury R - Vortex couple and gaining access to the final. Here, Zhivnov, in particular, is the best classified and repeats the 7-position comeback performed in pre-final. Gubenko is also the author of an important heat, recovering 5 opponents. Axel Malja, on the other hand, has to withdraw due to a contact after a few hudred meters.
Liu Ruiqi does well in the heats and recovers 6 positions in prefinal. Not enough to enter the Final, but however a good result considering he is taking his first steps within the international karting scene.
A few more difficulties, however, for David Rozenfeld and Nicolas Pino in OK as well as for Paul Evrard in KZ2. The latter, in particular, was a little bit unlucky: after racing intense heats, even with a ninth place conquered, in pre-final he brilliantly gets close to the topten. Here, unfortunately, he slips back and the overtakings made from that moment on are not enough to allow him to enter the final.
The Kosmic Kart Racing Department will now have about one month off to better prepare the final round of the OK and OK Junior FIA Karting European Championship. The races awarding the European titles in the two direct-drive categories will take place in Le Mans from 19th to 21st of July.
