In the 3rd round of the European Championship Basz triumphs with a terrific comeback in the final of OK category. The absolute standing sees us in second place ready to play the title in Belgium, in Genk.
In OKJ class our chassis are at the top with the victory of the Kosmic Kart of Martins.
OK. Also in Portimao, as happened in Adria already, the result of Karol Basz was penalized by some collisions. In particular, at the Agarve track, our driver was involved in a collision in the very beginning of the final race where he had earned a good position at the starting grid, second row. The Racing Department’s driver slipped in twenty-third position, but he never gave up and made the most of his chassis, setup in optimal conditions thanks to the work of all our technical staff.
Karol has thus performed so many overtakings and best-lap records, entering into the points with eleventh place in the final. Our driver’s performance highlighted the exceptional Kosmic Kart-Vortex chassis, although the best lap of the final, obtained with a time of 56"213, is a consolation by virtue of the winning potential he showed.
The competitiveness of our chassis had already been highlighted also during the first part of the event, in which Basz had the second fastest time in the heats and two quarters. Noah Milell, after a good fifth time in the qualifyings had run a great first heat, closing in fifth place.
Milell’s placings (14th position in the final) allowed him to collect valuable points for the championship, in which he is twenty-third.
Basz, despite the loss of the championship lead is second to only five points behind the leader Joyner. With this background, the competition that will award the title, scheduled on July 31st in Genk (Belgium), promises to be exciting and represents an opportunity for the Racing Department to demonstrate its value.
OKJ. In the sequence of heats, it was Théo Pourchaire who performed well managing to win a race. Unfortunately, an unlucky stop in the first heat did not allow Pourchaire to start in the very first rows of the pre final.
Charles Weerts managed to gain the first points in the continental championship with a good behaviour in pre-final 2, finishing 16th.
Kosmic Kart’s technical material has shone in the Portuguese race with Martins who led his Kosmic Kart, VDK team, to the final success. A result that enhances the quality of our Mercury MY15, sensational chassis that are able to win in any conditions and in the different categories employed.
