At the end of the first round of the CIK European Championship reserved for KZ class, held at the French circuit of Essay, in which both our drivers have shown the qualities of the chassis, the outcome was positive. In particular, Patrik Hajek who qualified fourth in the chrono timing and still among the first positions (9th and 5th) in the two heats to enter the prefinal.
Andreas Backman, too, had a positive start with an overall result which placed him in ninth place after the heats.
Unfortunately, in the prefinal and final Andreas has been involved in slight collisions, and had to stop without fully showing his potential and that of his Kosmic Kart-Vortex chassis.
Hajek has finished the appointment of Essay always remaining in the top positions, well supported by his Mercury MY15, powered by the fast and reliable Vortex RKZ.
In the prefinal Patrik fought tenaciously improving his position of a box on the grid and finishing eighth. In the final, our driver has recovered other positions, signing a record time of 47.965, slightly higher than the best lap of the race and finishing in fourth place.
With the results obtained, Hajek is sixth in the rankings with 26 points and has the potential to aim at gaining a relevant place in the European Championship, whose next stages are set for May 15th in Zuera (Spain) and July 31st in Genk (Belgium).
